I'm building an extension, I need a Fitch beam for the roof, the architect specs red oxide, I'm going to make the beam up myself and I'm not keen on just red oxide, I think black hammerite or something as a top coat would be a good idea.
while hammerite would do the job. it is not the paint it used to be. I'm sure that there are better paints that you could use although the coating won't have a hard life being indorrs. I always thought that red oxide is just a primer and a top coat would normally be used?
