Finally managed to get the PortaMIG fired up today and did my first ever welds. I have a long way to go I know but thought I would share my efforts so far. I used the settings below today:
Set to 3 and varied the wire speed between 2.5 and 3.5 whilst practicing. The sheet metal I am learning on is SWG20 so just over 0.9mm.
First Welds
Having a Play Around
Metal sign to replace the paper one in the porch so the missus knows where I am when she comes home
Practicing Butt and Lap Welds
Worked on both sides of some of these
This is the project I'm building up to work on, the panels are SWG20 too.
I will start a project thread once I start welding on the car.
