Well the day started well , ankle deep in cow muck surveying to extend a farm shed. Worked out well as it was 30 yards from the workshop I was getting my new Esab Rebel delivered to, so gave me something to do whilst waiting for it to turn up
When it arrived, the engineer set it up for me. First problem, euro plug. Managed to pinch 13amp plug off of an extension cable and he fitted that. Next problem, need an extension cable to reach the wall socket
Luckily there was one down in the office , so I borrowed that.
Got the gas on , and all fired up
Time was running out , so for the second time in my life , I laid down some welds on some scrap that was lying around .
Tried to walk before I could run and tried some of that pretty fishscaling that you proper welders do. ( though not a bad attempt eh)
Finished off with a few off with a few more beads .
Machine was set up on smig with 0.8 wire and set for 6mm steel.
Felt a lot more in control than the other day when I used their Lincoln machine to have a practice with. Looking forwards to the next playtime
