Hi,
I'm wanting to learn to weld as I've got a car which could do with some welding & want to be able to do some fabrication work.
I've got a budget of sub £400 for everything, thinking of a MIG with gas, but proper refillable canisters rather than the disposable ones.
I've narrowed it down to around two welders:
Clarke MIG160TM (Turbo) MIG Welder - £346.80
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/mig160tm-welder
Sealey SuperMIG 180 - £365 (on the internet, or £400ish at local dealers)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-18...-Welding-Timer-With-Euro-Torch-/151101060532?
These machines are both ready for refillable gas which was my main reason for choosing these, as others are slightly less money but they then need the regulators buying etc.
Which do people recommend? I'm tempted to go for the Clarke due to being able to buy it from a physical shop etc.
What else will I need?
Mask: TIMETOP Auto Darkening Welding Helmet - £29.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TIMETOP-Darkening-Welding-Welders-Grinding/dp/B00FOHF6MQ/
Gloves: Delta Plus Heat-Resistant Leather Hide Welder's Gloves - £4.99
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Delta-Plu...g-Gauntlets-35cm-Length-CA615K-/131057242626?
Gas: Where do I get a bottle of this? And where can I refill them? - I'm in the midlands
Wire: What's the best size for welding thin car metal?
Anything else?
Thanks,
Max
