Hi,
Looking for some advice as to what MIG welder to buy, been browsing around on the forum, weldequip, machine mart and looking on manufacturer's website but I still don't have much of a clearer picture.
Will mainly be used for car body, car parts and having a fiddle anything between 1mm-5/6mm material. Would like something that has the no gas option. Wouldn't mind having a go at aluminum as well at some point.
Ideally would love the Portamig with its min 15amp, but I just can't afford to spend that amount at the moment. So I'll have to settle with a min 30amp and obviously max amp will be whatever comes in the budget of around £400.
Was looking at the R-Tech IMIG180 but by the time I add on a mask, gloves, wire, gas etc I'm looking at well in to the £550 range.
The Clarke stuff is another option, but they offer so much range I'm a bit lost with them, and some only offer a min 40amp which I think will be slightly too much for thin materials.
Should I bite the bullet and go for the R-Tech or will other cheaper alternatives offer what I'm looking for?
Thanks
Adam
