Well chaps, here are the photos I promised. This is the very first project I have done using Stainless Steel. Its a gas cooker sheild, for a log house.
This is only a small job I found where I live, earn a little money to pay back for part of the welder atleast
A couple of weeks ago I bought a Tig welder, and its turned out to be one of my best investments in kit I have bought. (keen shooter, climber etc, so I like good kit )
Its giving welds as good as £££ liquid cooled Tig welders I used in training.
So here goes, here is the kitchen:
A little sawing required
Then to work. I measured up, ordered stainless steel, decent welding mask from Welequip (cheers!)
And then the problem of cutting the stainless...
Well, I tried to cut it with a jig I made for the angle grinder, no luck.. I found the best way was to draw a line, and cut it using free hand angle grinding. (thin stainless cutting disc, £1 each )
(more photos in the next post)
