First time using a handheld (used CNC in the past) so didn't know what to expect, but it was quite surprising how gentle it was . Don't know what I was expecting , just had this vision of my arm being thrown upwards by air pressure lol
I certainly need to get my stance right to support the torch etc , but using it on 6mm plate I was getting quite a good cut when using a clamped on angle as a straight edge. I could feel myself lifting the torch up and tilting it in freehand mode, so I may well cheat and get a guide to keep a constant distance from the plate ( the one in the workshop had this and after giving it a go it made all the difference)
Still playing around with settings as I got quite a bit of dross on the 6mm plate.
Made a quick cut out in honour of the bloke who let me borrow a bit of his workshop for a while. ( pinched the offcut so may knock one up for the kids tomorrow at home)
So here it is , first freehand cutout . Excuse the wobbly lines.....
Couple of weeks and I'll be cutting like a pro
