Sorry about the delay in replying Pedrobedro,
I don't tend to plan very far ahead, Just start with a few idea's and as i progress every thing gets changed in my mind as I keep refining each part untill it finally reaches the nice fab and weld stage,
I don't know about any other members, but when I see something well-made and nice-to-look-at it sort of do a smiley laugh, which is exactly what I did when I saw this. That is absolutely cracking mate, well done!
May I pick your brains about a couple of details please?
Where did you get the pyrex from? Is it a casserole lid or a plate please?
It looks like you've got two air inlets, one above the loading door and one down to the right of it, am I correct? If so, is the above one for airwash over the door and does it work?
Sorry for all of the questions Gordon, I've just finished a burner made out of a cut-down 47kg propane cylinder but have recently acquired a smaller-capacity one as I was going to build a fire pit but I think my efforts may well go into a markII log burner instead having seen this one. I hope you don't mind but I am going to shamelessly blag your idea for inspiration, whilst genuflecting and prostrating myself at your feet, Wayne's World-style.
We are defenitely not worthy
Hi Browser,
Pyrex dish was a bootsale find,Round with a nice 1/2" flange for mounting.Every time I go into a store selling Pyrex now I'm on the look-out for suitable pieces.Top vent does not really act as an air wash.I usually light up and get a good hot fire going before closing the door and it stays pretty clean. I was going to fit a hot air inlet pipe going thro' the fire to assist secondary burning but got lazy in the final stages.I do have a baffle fitted before the flue pipe, but did not get around to doing the secondry air pipes as per sketch.
