Back around April time I was given a pencil sketch of the frontage of a stage for a local festival and asked the classic question 'how would you make that?'. Being a man of steel that's where my mind went, but luckily I was teamed with a clever German woodworker to reign in my metallic desires
The crux of the design was that the roof was to be covered in soil and turf-a significant load-and after a lot of heed scratchin and costing up it was decided that steel and not telegraph poles or glue lam beams would be the material of choice, which made me happy
Considering that by this time there was 6 weeks to get this thing built the pressure was on and the order went out for the first lot of steel.
Here are a couple of snaps of the design process involved
That was the small version but it was decided to scale it up a bit and use more arches and make it generally much, much BIGGER!!!!
