I'm getting ahead of myself here, but ...
One of the farmers I regularly work for has offered to let me have a permanent workshop in one of his sheds. Plenty of space for all of my clutter and kit, and completely dry .
Thinking ahead, I would like to get into TIG in the not too distant future, so that I can do a decent job on some stainless etc, but here is the possible problem. The shed on offer is next door to the milking parlour and while it is fairly well sealed off, the joining wall is only block built. The parlour is one of those modern computer controlled jobbies and I am concerned about the HF causing interference.
I am already restricted to not making too much noise at milking time, and really don't want to be restricted further by what processes I can/cannot use. Workshop is offered 'rent-free' in exchange for some of the work I currently do for him, so looking elsewhere becomes difficult!
Before I move in, it would be quite simple to build a full sized Faraday cage inside the entire workshop if that would prevent the above problem. I am not electrically minded (at all), so my questions are:
1. Is it necessary or am I worrying over nothing?
2. If it is a good idea, what mesh size would anyone recommend (I was thinking about using rebar mesh about 6" or 8" square).
3. Any other better suggestions.
All/any comments welcome
Thanks for your help.
