Hi guys, just got test results back. Passed the 5F fillet weld, so pretty pleased with that, but annoyingly failed the 3G Open Root Butt Weld. Penetration was good through the backside, but fail certificate states worm holes and porosity. Ground out starts and stops but obviously missed some or it was in the cap.
Anyone got any tips?
I'm gonna book back up for another two days training/test in December, but I need to have a good practice before hand.
I used filarc 56S all the way out, root, fill and double weave cap. Cannot remember if I ran in reverse polarity for the root now or not?
Any body know where I could get a load of pre-beveled plates and what bevel I need? IIRC it was 30 or 37.5.
