As there are numerous posts in various threads, regarding a perceived lack of consumables, replacement/alternate torches and parts, by concerned users of torches designated PT-27 PT-23 PT-80 PT-81 (& possible LPG-80?) fitted to various models on ranges of Murex and ESAB machines
Following the purchase of Murex by ESAB, to avoid confusion, Murex parts were redesignated See Murex Service Bulletin No. 168
Unfortunately redesignation didn't end with just the torches, consumables too were renumbered, but only some of them, so there seems to be:
Murex to ESAB, ESAB early to ESAB late, Murex to ESAB late and ESAB Part Numbers.
Of particular importance when searching eBay, Amazon and vendors, for any replacement parts required for this type torch, one needs to search individually for each of the old, redesignated or current numbers or part numbers, due to inconsistencies between site search engines.
An important design change should be noted when searching for the electrode,
see Murex Service Bulletin No. 167
A useful recommendation, use 30A nozzles on thin materials with low amp cuts, cleaner narrow kerfs with less dross = less cleaning.
Myself, I have yet to experiment with either reaming or drilling worn but good 30A nozzles to 50A where the 30A=0.93, 50A=1.16, 80A=1.32mm,
nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price of miniature reamers, nothing to lose, I suppose, by drilling to try out.
Searching for the "wearing" consumables(somewhat easier than for torch parts):
Swirl(baffle, later ring):
1415213 - 558 000 365 - 0558000365 - 33367
Electrode(use later pointy bullet shape XL, runs cooler + extended life):
1415214 - 558 000 364 - 0558000364 - 33366XL
Nozzle 30A:
1415218 - 558 000 362 - 0558000362 - 34391
Nozzle 50A (50 - 70A):
1415211 - 558 000 363 - 0558000363 - 34392
Nozzle 80A:
1415212 - 558 000 457 - 0558000457 - 35265
There is stock out there to replace or rebuild torch's, the problem is in finding the other alternate part numbers and then searching for, not knowing what the vendor has advertised the part as.
Just purchased a goodly amount of excess genuine stock ESAB nozzles, will post in the For Sale section
my excess swirl, 30A and 50A nozzles, and main(+ poss. Pilot Arc) 15A fast blow fuses.
My plasma is only 50A, if interested in 80A nozzles PM me.
Enjoy your searches
