One of the many projects on my list is to make a patio burner from an old gas cylinder.
I've got a half empty butane bottle in the garden but what's the safest way to empty this. I no longer have the gas bbq so can't burn the gas off, simply opening the valve and venting the gas to air doesn't seem a great idea, so was thinking of sticking the rubber tube into a bucket of water and letting the gas bubble through this. Not sure if this would actually make it safe though - would the gas bubbles still be liable to ignite when they reach the surface ??
Cheers
