I put the panel into the door in that photo. It puts a joddle into the edge of the panel if you hold the piece flat or folds the edge for wire if you let the panel curve upwards.
Same tool as in the 4th photo from 'Mike 109444' above. (Also last-but-one from left in his first photo)

I seem to recall it having 7/8 bore for the 'wheels' but I'm not sure. Still recovering from spinal surgery so not permitted to visit the workshop by my wife. Could maybe get her to photograph/measure if you need it?
Slightly rounded edge to the top wheel and, if I were making another, a few different bottom wheels with bigger staggers in the diameter for thicker sheets. Shimming the top wheel outwards would permit bigger radius bends. Unlike most people on here, I don't know what I'm doing but am always learning as I go.

Think it's refereed to as a tipping roller. By lifting the metal as you feed through it tips the edge. If you say had a strip of steel the curved shape of a wheel arch and wanted to form the lip then you could "tip" it following the curve. Recommendations for operating the machine is to make or find a wheel (old steering wheel) to replace the handle as it allows more controlled feeding and/or adding a geared motor!

This is what i want to make it's a heat exchanger for my old albatross boat it rivets (200 OF THEM PER SIDE) to the hull and the engine cooling water flows through and the heat is given off to the water you are boating in. Should i do one swage at a time the tool i have made will do both at once i need some one to help me one to wind and me to position the material it is 2.5mm ali i have annealed it waiting for a mate to help do you think this will work i don't really want to scrap the a lli as its £120 a sheet in the grade i use on the boat.

Blimey I am amazed how many people know about Albatross boats. I have restored one continental with climax motor. swore i would never do another then a continental hull came up cheep so that is the one i want to make new heat exchangers for.

I have made the mk 1 not to bad but i think i can make the second one better only used old ali to test my jenny and the tools i made quite pleased for a first attempt at anything like this.

If you can get hold of an electric motor from a stairlift you can fit it to your jenny and make it a one man operation.

Industrial sewing machine motors are also good if down geared using chain and sprockets, this way you can get easily use the existing foot pedal for speed control. Or, use a Parvalux to be really heavy duty.

ohh Im currently electrifying one using a geared 12V dc 70 rpm motor. I going for the chain and sprockets for speed reduction, using 1/2" bs chains and 10 and 25 tooth sprockets. after remachining the bores, this is where
I stopped tonight, just mocked up to show rough positioning of the sprockets as I dont think the marker pen will be strong enough to work for a spindle

I know what you mean it makes me nervous because it is so cheep you have to wonder at the quality looking good though

This is what i have done today and it runs fine nice and slow 24v winch that i don't use.

Finished it off today wired it and fitted a foot pedal, the solenoid was still on the winch it also has a clutch which will be quite handy so i don't overload the motor it works well. i shall fold up a box tomorrow and fit it between the motor and jenny to store the formers in.

I was looking at the cheap 240v hoists stripped down for a power source instead of a 12v winch, not sure if the motor is the correct type to be run from a PWM though. Thought I might get one with the intention of being a 'loft hoist' as an excuse then strip it down to see if it's any good!
