How to you find using it not having a quill?I have a No.2 Edgwick
My vertical head is slightly different, as Brightspark says it's a 40 int.
It only gets up to 900 is'h rpm with the head.
I've never used it as a horizontal.
As Minimutly says, it's a universal.......the table swivels. Mechanical power feed to the table for X & Y but not up and down.
This used to be 3ph but put a single phase 3hp motor on, also flat belt drive.....i was able to nearly stop it the other week by putting a bit too much feed on.
I think the shaft on the end of the table with no handle is to connect up some sort of dividing head to machine spirals.
Just renewed the flat belt the other month, i did think of altering it for "v" belts but the top pulley and clutch looked a bit too trickey to mess about with.
It does the job ok and is a pretty sturdy lump.
