Hi guys just thought I'd give a quick heads up on this, I received a strange e-mail today about a bacs payment for £716.73 which asked me to look at an e-mail attachment. but there was nothing attached?
I tried to e-mail back but it was rejected by the server and the telephone number provided did not exist.
Luckily for me there was no attachment because when I investigated it further via google it turns out to be a scam which places malaware which tries to get your banking password, etc, onto your computer when you open the attachement.
My email was from a Titus Dale, senior accounts payable specialist, KJ Watking and co.
It looked innocent enough and as I had recently changed insurance on my daughters car I thought it was about that, It was not flagged by my email provider and shows how easy it is to be deceived, so please be aware if you get anything similar, hope this may help someone.
Regards Norm
