I have 5mm plate from an armored truck I’ve made into tines for a broad fork
the bar it’s going on is 2mm
my mug welder keeps tripping my rcd I don’t know why
so trying to buy a stick welder cheap found 1 it’s 100amp
if I use 618 steel rods and pre drill my tines as well as bevel a foot to reduce steels thickness
could the 100amp weld it strong enough ?
thinking if it’s plugged then welded to the 2mm bar which will weld easy it could work?
otherwise I’m stick broken mig so il have to bolt angles to the tines both sides bolt em to the bar n weld the angles as there thinner then each tine is kinda removable .don’t want to as it will be more prone to rust on the thins the tines dont rust almost there so good old steel so not worried about them rusting
other bar option is a 5mm bar but welding issue here and trying to reduce weight too and guess this will be strong enough to jump on
and I gues these will just overheat on eBay not worth it ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/38493230...3oimz0jric&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
