Hi.
I finally got around to unboxing my Clarke MIG106. So, it comes with a spool of wire for use with inert gas and also a spool of fluxed wire. Of course I'm going to go with the fluxed wire, since I have no gas and the kit comes without a regulator.
So, if I can buy wire with a flux, which apparently gives off the inert gas, why do I want gas? I'm guessing it works out less expensive or is "better" for a host of other reasons.
Secondly, what regulator would anyone recommend, and what size gas bottle? I'm told the little bottles don't last long at all and I'm prepared to pay a few quid for something midrange that'll last me a while.
Yep ... vague questions, with a thousand combinations of answers and opinions. Bring it on and get the debate started!
Thanks.
