So the other week I sprayed my first scrap bonnet, first go got orange peel, second go it turned out decent, so now for the real thing.
I decided to go to bare metal as there was a lot of rust pin holes, but should be ready to put on first layer this weekend.
Paints4u recommended that I go:
Lechler epoxy primer
Lechler rapid filler
Lechler basecoat
Lechler clearcoat
Seeing as a lot of these layers don't share thinners, and certainly don't share hardeners, the price really adds up.
I think it was @ajlelectronics who said that there's no need for the rapid filler coat, just put on extra primer and sand flat. Though I don't know about putting basecoat onto black primer?
Second opinions?
