Hello to everybody,my name is Fotis and i come from Greece, age 34,telecomms engineer.
It's my first time posting here in mig-welding.co.uk and i must warn you about my bad english, please excuse the mistakes i ll surellly make.
To begin with my introduction i like motorcycles and cars A LOT,i like talking scrap useless things and make usefull things of them,im a "DIY" fan because i find joy and creativity in constructing things,i like computers, microcontrollers beers and music!
So,nowdays i want to build a MIG welder because i do nt have the money to buy one,i want to make a custom exhaust for my GSXR.I would like to ask you some questions.
I've so far built a wire feeder from an old 24V wipers motor from a truck,a controller board so i can adjust the wire feed speed and control relays from the torch switch and a beautifull power supply to power theese things up.
I plan to power the electrode wire from the inverter welder i have (GYSmi 161),do you think this will work?I've seen a lot of DIY plans on the internet rectifying the 220VAC poer line directly or through a 1:1 transformer to produce the voltage and amperage for the electrode.I thought if i could use the power from the inverter i have it could surrogate the dangerous voltage from the power line.
Awaiting for your replies, happy to post and some photos of my project so far.
Again happy to be here
