I have recently aquired a 1995 5 door 300tdi with almost a years mot on it. On having a closer inspection of the "welded" repairs to the rear arches it appears that whoever did the welding was looking the other way and the patches are absolutely terrible and totally substandard.
Is there anyone that has carried out sill, a & b post and rear arch repairs on a Discovery 1? How easy a job is it? I am reasonably confident on welding bodywork and will do all the repairs myself.
I have looked for replacement panels and they seem to be easily obtainable and I plan to replace boths sills, a +b post bottoms and the rear arches on both sides. My thinking on replacing all in one go is that it will make more sense to have totally new metal all round instead of having new arches this year and then having to do the sills next year for the MOT.
