Hello folks, I enquired with a local paint supplier about 2k paints that I could use on a clients interior handrail and one of the options they gave was a Direct to Metal paint that doesn't require a primer. I'm not sure of the brand, I forgot to ask.
Does anyone generically have experience of 2k DTM paints? I enquired about 2k paints as I'm under the impression they're harder wearing, and my client wears rings so I can imagine the paint getting scratched a bit. They do also sell 1k cellulose.
It'd be onto mild steel. Could I get away with using one of those special cleaning flap discs followed by some meths to clean off the mill scale and dirt, or would I specifically need to get it blasted first? I recently used some Zinga cold galv and they were very specific in the data sheet that the substrate must be blasted first.
The paint colour will be a very bright yellow.
Cheers
