Thanks, I didn't know that and it's really useful info generally not just for this. Can't help with a copy of the English instructions but If you have the Google lens app you can take a pic of the French instructions and it'll translate them for you.
I may be (almost certainly am) late to the party on this but what an amazing app that is. Just fiddling around with it to see what it does has been an eye opener. Identified garden birds, translated text, converted tiny/unreadable text to audio, found references online etc etc. Can't help with a copy of the English instructions but If you have the Google lens app you can take a pic of the French instructions and it'll translate them for you.
Kind of you to offer, thanks. If you want anything translating from French to English, give me a shout.
Mr Ben the shopkeeper, with fancy dresses, can I try some on ?Kind of you to offer, thanks.
It's not so much translation of the document as it's fairly straight forward and there are pictures. It's those odd segments or words that make little sense until you work out which valve/thing/do-dah it's referring to.
The Google lens app is perfect for it as it's just a matter of viewing the relevant bit through the camera and it appears in English all Mr Benn's shopkeeper like.
That's the one, "the shopkeeper appeared as if by magic".Mr Ben the shopkeeper, with fancy dresses, can I try some on ?
Wow, this is getting random.

The best.Loved that programme, when I was a bairn.

Yes, ish. Between the videos and the most excellent discovery of Google Lens I'm all sorted.
I found that lighting was best with the reg set to 3, tip one measure of unlit meths into/around the central tube, light a second measure and tip it in. Kettle on, make a coffee, boot up the computer, close the choke and the flame turns blue. The only thing which took some time to set up was the damper weight to get it to the 'just so' spot.I have one here in London, and a truly excellent device it is.
Trick is to light the thing on No.1 setting on the Toby regulator, and use a single sheet of blue roll soaked in meths as the ignition mainstay... light a teaspoon full of meths in the special spoon provided, and pour in after the blob of tissue has been dropped in just by the central flame tube.
Sometimes necessary to leave the porthole door slightly ajar to minimise draught in the initial phases.
A simple clockwork timer helps, set to 12 minutes, by when the rich mixture control can be pushed shut, and a perfect blue flame will be established.
Helps that I lived for ten years in France.....
Far too modernI wouldn't go quite that far.
