Guys, I have a rear desire to build a woodburner that would go in a prospector style tent. Ray Mears style. I don't have the tent - but that's not the point.
In terms of design it would be a simple square box, raised off the floor with a swing door and a removable round plate in the top for cooking. Can anyone enlighten me as to the necessary attributes of a woodburner like this please? OK a flue of course. But does it need an ash pan, vents, internal fire bars - or what? Or a is simple box enough? I am sure that there needs to be air drawn into the firebox somehow but a drilled floor would mean that all the ash would fall out. In short, how to you make one work well.
The tent is another project for another day as is the canoe and somewhere to use it all. I have gas cookers, modern tents and a 4x4 - but I'd really like to do a trip one day where everything gets wet, nothing works and I come home tired and filthy. Know what I mean?
Appreciate your thoughts guys.
