Hi Newbie here discovered this great forum and it's been so helpful in trying to decide on my first welder purchase. I want a welder to do some repairs on my old ford focus cutting out the rot. Financially this makes no sense but it's more about the skills and learning on this car. So I'm looking for a welder that will be for automotive use panels and sills but won't need to be upgraded if I get the welding bug.
I think I have it down to the Clarke MIG151EN or MIG130EN initially wanting to practice a bit with no gas then convert to gas once I learn some basics. I like the fact Clarke will have good spares availability and they seem highly rated by you guys for beginners like me. I don't however understand the difference between the blue and the red range of welders as on paper these are similar units?
To throw a spanner in the works I also stumbled across this BlueMig 150T that on paper sounds comparable. Big plus it has a euro torch and detachable earth lead but I can't find any information on it so might be a risky option?
If you were me which one would you choose?
Just to brighten up the post the rot project :-)
