That's expensive for a buddy Tig. £350-£400 is about what they go for usually. The Esab buddy tig 160 in on there for £475 is you look in the special offers page.

Well, Miller pedals are pretty easy to make. They even give you the pinout of the socket in the user manual! I can't get myself to spend $180 for what I know is just a potentiometer and a snap action switch. Plus it seems like a fun project.Don't make one to go with a brand new machine incase you do something wrong and void the warranty.
I've never tripped the fuse
Yeah I doubt he will come down to my budget, but I like to proven wrong on that. He hasn't responded yet, but I'll give him a break since it's a sunday .If matt can hook you up with a lorch with warranty for your budget then I would pull his arm off.
I haven't tripped the plug fuse or the 16 amp MCB. Yeah, they do look weird but how long do you spend looking at the machine itself.Do you mean that weird 13A plug fuse you brits use.
I have 16A MCB's and those have a hair trigger to current spikes unlike melt wire fuses.
I'll look into those IFL welders. They look a bit goofy but if the specs and the price is right....
I've fitted a regular 13 amp 3pin house plug on mine as i'm fairly confident that being an inverter it should be enough,
not used it at full power yet and doubt i will for any long periods so i cant confirm it yet.
$180 (I'd say that's a bargain £100 ish.) I could not make one as good as that for that. But like you say it's a nice project so fair play.Well, Miller pedals are pretty easy to make. So you guys in Britain do not use 16A fuses ?
Sounds like it's been a reliable unit . I have to say I've never tried the parweld welders but I have the water cooled torches and I absolutely hate them. I can't honestly say I've used one that has not sprung a water leak. The last parweld Tig torch I got because it was up down switched and cheap so I took a chance and with in 3 months it was dripping through the shroud. I pulled the head apart to tighten the union and the brass threads stripped. I'm glad the machines are far more reliable as I would not have another torch.I don't think you will go far wrong with a Parweld XTI 200 AC/DC, i've had mine and used it every day now for about 6 or 7 years and its been a great little unit, the arc on DC is more stable than the Rtech and they can be picked up quite cheaply these days , plus you get AC as a bonus

It wont pop out the mcb on my supply as its 20 amp, my 200 amp ac/dc doesn't trip it.What kind of circuit protection do you have in your meter box? I really like the specs and the price of the Miller, but i'd really like to be sure I'm not gonna buy a machine that I can't run. Would you mind cranking the machine up a bit on a piece of scrap next time you're welding something to see what your MCB's can handle?
I've been running a superflex CK cable for nearly 2 years now on my wp9,A lot of the best stuff is made in japan. CK flex head torches are awsome I'll be having one with my new machine next year. Yeah I'm exactly the same with those hand wheel torches I cannot get to grips with em I rarely use the button as like yourself I like the pedal. My last torch was an old wp20 murex . Was pretty good I had it years but I prefer the ck

Do you mean the normal flex heads or the "Flex loc" - Now they do look nifty.CK flex head torches are awsome I'll be having one with my new machine next year
