Not too many of these still on the road but quite a lot sorn'd and still pulling cows out of swamps.
The trak in my possession is a 1998 F78 Riviera (top of the range) . I bought it in 2000 for £12k. In all these years it has had a new fuel solenoid and a starter motor plus the usual batteries, exhausts, glow plugs and brake discs. This is the exact model, colour and year but not my truck.
Mines a bit tired and tatty now but only 70k miles done in 25 years. It's been a working vehicle pulling a caged 8x4ft trailer for nearly 24 years and has not had any of the back seats or rear roll bar in for all that time. Work gear thrown in the back and a clean once a year for the mot. I really don't deserve this truck as it has been a bit neglected and owes me nothing.
I took it off the road in November to give it some tlc and dk some work on it. I have a lot of parts sitting ready tkgk on and the back end is almost fully stripped down. Got new spring hangers, springs, shockers, crossmember, bump stops, full set of poly bushes and a few other bits and bobs. Chassis is solid (except the one crossmember between back wheels), fuel tank is not too bad and just a few small holes in the floor which appeared after wire brushing. Sills were replaced in 2016 with 3mm box section.
I am in the process of wire brushing everything and replacing the rear wheel arches. Anyone who knows 4traks will know what to expect when you remove the plastic wheelarch trim. Rot. Rear quarter panels are shagged as well.
