I thought I’d do a little review of some recent tool purchases to make my life a bit easier at work.
Now I wanted to buy Flange Wizard stuff but it just can’t be had for reasonable prices here.
So, I spotted a few Black Friday deals on amazon and found some of the Curv-O-Mark stuff was also a bit cheaper, and had seemed to stay that price for a week plus now.
First off was a 7ft long pipe wrap, I chose the heat resistant type.
Now I can only compare this wrap to my smaller 1”-4” diameter flange wizard wrap.
Measurements are only printed for about 1/3 of the wrap.
Pros:
Second was this centering head. The smaller of the two. Think I got this for £27. The flange wizard was over £100 bought from a UK supplier. Cheaper if imported via Amazon global store.

Pros:
- Nice and wide.
- Really clearly printed
- Fairly stiff so ideal for big pipes
- It’s quite thin compared to my flange wizard. Time will tell how it lasts.
- Box it comes in is useless. Flange wizard comes in a great tube.
- No rubber band to keep it tightly coiled.

Pros:
- Fairly solid construction. It’s cast aluminium. Punch is zinc plated but time will tell how hard it is.
- The punch is held in nice and tightly with a compressed ball bearing which does have adjustment via grub screw on the back.
- I don’t like the graduations or the whole level vial setup. It looks cheaply made. I will have to devise some method of testing the accuracy.
- Again the box is useless. Will have to keep this in my special site box rather than my tool bag or cantilever or it will be junk.
