Im considering buying a milling machine,Ive used one but it was about 15 years ago and it was very little at the time, ive got about 1500 to spend and I would like to buy as good a mill as I can afford. now ive got 3 phase power so that may be helpful,im not looking for something to machine massive continuous amounts of steel just small accurate work with the odd casting to shape up or whatever a small garage/farmer business would throw up,I would like advice on what to look out for as in wear/slack noisy gears I dont really know,I didnt come down in the last shower but its not something ive experience with either so advice from a professional would be much appreciated,I do have small milling operations on small slabs of say 1'' by 6'' stainless steel to do first so this may be something to consider I really dont know, I wasn't impressed by the small clarke mills I seen in machine mart,to me they looked like a recipe for chatter and the rest but maybe im wrong,Im based in Ireland so the likelihood is it will have to be collected from the uk whatever I buy, anyway all responses welcome
