I no nothing about how this should be done but I have/would never wet sand with a da. I would only wet sand by hand follows by a 2 stage machine polish.
Are you running dust extraction with the DA. Are there da discs designed to run wet?
Is there anything you can do to reduce the amount of dust getting in the paint, are the panels horizontal or vertical when being painted.
Don’t know if you watched the YouTube I posted earlier but this guy is a pro and he started with P1500 dry with dust extraction in order not to get what he described as pig tails, looking at your initial pictures it looks like you’ve got DA sander marks, and you said you started with p1000 wet which is quite a bit courser, now I’m not a professional in this field but maybe dry with a finer disk and dust extraction will give results not showing DA sander marks which you’re seeing now and can then be finished with finer gradesI have dust extraction, but obviously not in use when wet. Maybe the discs are not designed to be run wet. I cant, at present, find my invoice for them, as i tried to look up exactly what they were.
The panels in the photo are literally flat sheets, and i dont have an especially sanitary area for spraying. For some parts ive built frames to hold them vertical, higher up, in an attempt to get less rubbish in them, eg -

But, as you can clearly see, the environment is sub-optimal.
