Still experimenting with TIG.
I've welded some 1mm stainless steel strips to some 5mm mild steel square bar. The arc was struck on the large bar and then the puddle was washed over the thinner thinner strip to avoid it burning away too much. No filler was used for these. I used a 1.6mm tungsten and about 60A.
I've a question about the colours on some of these welds, particularly on the lower picture there are some which are quite red in colour. What is that caused by?
