Are the Clarke welders really that much better than SIP? Reason I'm asking is that a typical welding session with my SIP is :-
Well, I'm sick of the fact that for every minute I spend welding I spend 30 minutes messing around getting the machine to weld. As I'm getting older I've got less free time than I used to have and would appreciate a welder that lets me get on with the job.
I can't help feeling it's a case of "a bad workman always blames his tools" and that it's not the SIP it's just me.
Is the Clarke really THAT much better? I'm not looking for a slight improvement, neater weld, etc. - I'm looking for something that completely blows the SIP out of the water and makes welding fun.
Particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has moved from a SIP to a Clarke.
Cheers, Rich
- Half hour fiddling with the SIP.
- Nervously venture onto the car and do 1/3 (5 mins) of a small patch job.
- Spend next hour fiddling with the SIP.
- Do another 1/3 of the job.
- Swear angrily at the SIP and tell everyone how I regret ever buying it.
- Calm down, spend half hour messing with the SIP.
- Finish the job.
- Admire the work and forget how bad the SIP was (until the next time).
