OK, I recently gave away my old clarke 90A welder that I never had much success with and I want to buy something new.
I'll be using it for motorbike stuff so sheet metal work and welding brackets up that sort of thing.
A mate has just bought a Clarke 160 and loves it. Now I know the Portamig is 'better' but I'm trying to work out why.
From reading this forum the main points I've picked up are
The Portamig has a Euro tourch... but I don't know why I need this.
The Portamig has a more reliable feed mechanism
The Portamig has a lower min and higher max amperage.
The Portamig wirefeed is linked to amps making getting thing right easier.
Is this all correct? Have I missed anything?
