Just looking for some advise, I had not used my welder for a few months until yesterday. I needed to weld a small mot repair plate on a friends car, so I set up to weld and found that my welder is badly in need of some TLC.
The main problem seems to be due to the wire (.6mm) looks like it has started to corrode slightly on the reel. There is a speckled residue covering it and this seems to be clogging the wire feed and liner.
I managed to get some welding done after lots of cursing, I removed the top few layers of wire from the reel and used my airline to blow the dust from the liner. This helped but its still not right
so my questions are.
any advise welcome.
also, I currently weld with BOC Co2, do I need a different regulator to change to argoshield light?

- should I replace the liner with a metal liner or a teflon one?
- is there anything I can do to stop the wire from corroding on the reel between uses?
any advise welcome.
