As my SIP Migmate 130 Turbo seems to have expired I am going to take advantage of Machine Marts vat free week and have selected the Clarke 151 EN as its replacement. The price will just be under the £200 mark which is about my limit for hobby use.
Most of my welding is on mild steel around the 3mm mark, very occasionally I might have to weld my van bodywork but for metal of a heavy guage I would use my old arc welder. My questions, do the Clarke machines come with a steel liner as if not I will get a new one at the same time, also I will most probably convert it to gas when the gasless wire is used up (I have a few rolls of 'gas' wire in stock) so what do I require to convert it pipe wise and does the polarity need altering and how do you do this? Sorry about the long post, but any help will be welcomed. Thank's in advance.
Pete.
