Hi I'm looking at putting some flux core wire and I have read that you will need to change the + and - around just wondering has anyone done this on the Clarke 100e mk2
heres the explanation for it

its s simple disconnection of wires and put dinse sockets onto your machine and wire them up
though it is an old post
Zorndy you seam to be posting all over the placeI've done all of that basically. My wire feed motor won't run. The machine will arch but the orange light stays on constantly.

I think you will find you have disconnected to power that WAS feeding the motor ! You are also probable getting a feed back through the circuit that is causing the amber over temp light !!
Think you need to set EVERYTHING back to original THEN look at these two versions of the 110. You will note that the switching is done on the last part of the output where I think you have tried to do the switching earlier in the circuit and lost the motor supply.

Sorry if post number 5 came across a bit strong
Because you have a couple of issues that from my reading of your other posts, were not there before you started on this mod then it would be good practice to get back to a working machine!
Then if you take these images of a SIP (who would have thought they would be any good for an example !!) You can see that they take the swapping after most other connections are done.
The "transformer" that you mentioned is in fact a the choke. you could as a temp attachment to it use a VERY large choc/screw terminal connector, then once you have got it all sorted make a good connection with a crimp connection.
Note there are enough small differences between the various Clarkes to make comparisons not easy.
as a temporary mod to it even connector blocks will do
also to note there is a little thump noise as you turn the machine on
you can still mod it after, that dosnt change but for now its best just to return everything to its working point then if theres any faults we can find them easier than trying to find them through someones mods to a machine
its advisable to have both as could be a selling point that it can use both gas and gasless hense the reason why to use the dinse sockets
glad you got it working again
The fact that you now have feed motor and arc this would indicate that the "over temp" lighting is a false condition.
