I want to add a water cooler to my Sherman 206p AC DC tig, it's only used for light hobby use (my other similar post is about the water cooled torch and coolant needed to use this)
I've been thinking of one of the cheapo coolers that are all over ebay etc, wondering if anyone uses one and things to watch out for, other models to consider etc.
I am leaning towards this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185458249819?hash=item2b2e2c505b:g:aR4AAOSwnrFiobok
Mostly because of it's more compact size, my welder has to live under a 90cm tall bench, and i'd like to have room on the welding cart to store my helmet, gloves and consumables... the argon bottle lives to the side of the bench and i use a 3 meter hose with a quick connect, as it's too tall to fit under the bench with the regulator fitted.
But there's this cooler which is the more normal size : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185458234611?hash=item2b2e2c14f3:g:H7EAAOSwu2Riobaw
But the extra 65cm height for that cooler means my plan of having a drawer for torch consumables is lost... but it has a flow alarm which would be handy (but could be added to the other cooler pretty easily)
I also wonder just how much coolant these units take, i've read that the smaller one takes from 3 to 7.5 litres, and the larger one from 6 to 10 litres.
