Guys in my shop use a different tungsten for welding stainless and for mild steel. Is this really necessary? Aren't they both a ferrous metal. Will it really contaminate that much? I feel like there is probably more contamination from the filth on the rod. Without wiping it with acetone first. Seems kinda silly to me.
