Hi all, Noticed while replacing the gasket on an exhaust manifold of a tractor that there is a crack on the backside of it.
So was in town to get the gasket and said to the man behind the counter that i needed a few cast rods so he dissapeared for a few seconds and came back with 3 3.2mm castolin eutectic 4044 rods.
I asked what current etc for them he shrugged his shoulders and said arent they all the same. then came off with some pant that they were all they ever sold and nobody had ever asked that before.
They were the last three he had so he gave them to me anyway!
Does anyone know anything about them. Are they cold rods or will they require a preheat? Would 90 - 100 amps be sufficient for them? DCEP/DCEN or ac?
They dont seem to be listed on the website so dont even know if they are cast rods or not!
Anybody know any better method?
Damn, makes me wish I had just asked for SS rods now!!
Thanks,
Clem
