As per my lathe thread which will get photos soon I'm keen to see if I can keep the original motor. I already have a cheap Chinese inverter of reasonable spec which was got to run a compressor (to do list...). Or if that won't work any other easy methods, adding a capacitor or something.
Power isn't all that important as the lathe has a clutch so starting need not be difficult.
I'm starting this separate thread here to attract the clever folk who understand the electrical side.
