Pretty random one.
Been offered a Jones and Shipman surface grinder for €200, £170 an hour or so from me.
I have the place and the 3 phase.
But do I really need it is the question ?
In the last ten years I've outsourced a dozen cylinder heads, to be skimmed.
From my research, surface grinders can only do hardened metal. Am I wrong ?
I'm quite interested, but starting to wonder apart from cylinder heads once a year, what else could I use it for.
From videos I've watched, parallels and 1.2.3 blocks need to be hardened or am I misunderstanding the situation.
Your thoughts please folks.
Cheers, Mat
