hi,
i currently own a draper 1302T mig welder which i bought locally to use to restore my mini project. however it is the biggest piece of you know what, the main problem is the gas valve in the torch. the gas pipe is held in to the valve with an o-ring and push fit into the valve and it leaks and always pops out and ive had enough.
whilst at uni (where i learnt to weld) i used a murex tradesmig that they had there (great welder), now dont want anything as big as that or as expensive, and i need one that can plug into a normal uk 240 volt socket in my garage. i will be using it for car body work reapires and also fabrication work from small box section and the like.
i have looked around on this fourm and the internet and come across the sealy super mig 185 with the euro tourch, retailing at around £449 this would really be the limit of what i can afford, does anyone have any recomendations. ive seen pleanty of comments about the clarke 160T being very good, but cant find any info on the internet?? i want to be able to have a machine that is smooth and produces some good quilty welds using the argoshield gas.
can anybody help/point me in the right direction/ recommend and good quilty welders within my price range.
many thanks
