Hello everyone
ive just joined this forum and have already picked up a lot of great info thanks
at the moment i have a clarke 150 TE mig welder that i have had for a few years, which has to be honest done everything ive asked it, however it is now time to get a bigger unit all together, still gonna use if for bodywork
I was hoping i may be able to get something to weld around 10mm mild steel for around the 600 mark
At the moment its just mainly hobby use but in the not too future i may look on expanding as i also try to do a bit of blacksmithing as well
As i get invited to the VAT free days at machine mart, was looking at the clarke 230 TEC turbo 60% @103 amps but have also noticed the IFL 170 mig inverter from weldquip 60%@120 amps does anyone have any thoughts on any of these ??? or can anyone recomend an alternative dont really wanna go over £600
i know the inverter has multi functions i plan on mainly using it for mig but this would give me an excuse to play with other types of welding, im not qualified by any means but if you cant beat it apart with a sledge after welding it is suppose its ok
