After countless hours reading and comparing etc I have come to a conclusion, ( no doubt a controvercial one )
Unless you after four figure prices, Miller, Lincoln etc the choices are getting hard. The massive influx of rebadged chinese TAT in various guises making absurd claims, are in essence..cheap crap.
However there are options, my favourite being Sip. They have uk outlets and servicing, they are also the main importer for ryobi, again a top notch mid range tool.
Anyway I digress, I wanted UK backed guarantees, support, parts availability etc. You get this with Sip. So I set about upgrading/modifying their welders.
Within a hour A failing migmate 130 turbo, is now a consistant welder, out performing much better stuff. This is now for sale, with more interest,
I will try to post pics of the mods, as they really do step this welder up into the £300+ level of welders. Smooth wire feeding, consistant welds, longer duty cycle, all achieved for around £15
Will post pics and instructions on the mods..Please note, I'm an engineer, not a welder, so If my example welds aren't up to your standards...blame me!
