A few months ago I posted my introduction. I'm finally getting to a point where my workshop is in a fit state (new shed blah blah).
Anyhow, I'm looking to buy my first, and hopefully only welder and I'm looking for some pointers. I want to buy a MIG welder, that can also do stick. I believe that is possible. I have a list of things to make. 2 fences, an ornamental stand for a sundial, some repairs to a few items (they'll need to wait in the queue) and various other bits and pieces. I don't want to buy twice so I've probably around £1200 to spend on the machine itself. So far the brands that have taken my eye are Jasic, Oxford, ESAB and Kempi. I'd also like to buy locally (glasgow area) if possible in case if any issues and I like to support local businesses with everything if I can. I notice that Jasic, for example, seems to have a decent warranty.
I'd also like advice on input voltage, I'd need to buy a transformer obviously if it's not 240.
