Hi guys. I have a very old weather cock (150 years approx) from the village church which I have been asked to repair. It is copper and the cock itself has come away from the copper tube running through the middle which was used as a support/bearing. The copper is approx 1/2mm thick. I have cleaned up the old braze and back to clean metal. It has been years since I have brazed so Can anyone recommend a brazing rod? And can I do it with MAPP/PRO gas or will I need oxy/acetylene, I have both. The cock is about 750mm tall but very thin wall plate. Any ideas/advice appreciated I want to think this through before I put any heat near it. Thanks.
