you wont find much better value rods than oerlikon citofix.€12 in any co-op
Murex White Box (I believe ESAB OK46.30 are exactly the same).
UTP Phoenix 6013 in a red box. I don't see them around so much lately.
Siftrode 6013. I bought a box and I've only used about 20 but they seem nice. They have a good name on here.
Probably loads of others, Lincoln budget range, I think Oerlikon do a white box rod.
It might be different in Ireland with different brands available.
Bohler is my go-to brand.
7018's:

6013's:

I buy em by the 5kg packet since I don't do enough stick welding to justify 20kg at a time, Thomas Graham sell them in packets so it's cost effective, and they're cheaper than Murex, Esab, Lincoln etc.
They're predictable, consistent and burn beautifully. What more could anyone need? If any more endorsement is needed, I know a local coded welding company only ever use Bohler for everything.

just click the report button and the nice mods will make it dissapear^^^^^^^^
This guy is advertising. He doesn't have the brains to realise that his link is for America only consumables and gear. All of the stuff on this review site is sold by the same company. This sort of activity really winds me up, it is just spam in another coat.
Well, you can refer to ***link removed*** for more information. Because it contains popular products only.

ha ha thanks dont get me into trouble or it will be just like school!I already had. You are the accused now
cappy i don,t see the vortic marine much now,but i do get the chance to use vodex now and again, its a great rod all round, especially on roots.the bolher union is nice for capping hugh f just a bit harder on root. these are the only rods we seem to get hold of but the staple would be fox sum by bolher.these are vodex and union in that order.f/j

Nobody around here keeps recognised brands like esab or bohler but a local hardware shop stocks INE blue rods, tried them & they are quite good & not too expensive. Unfortunately they only stock 6013's but next week I'll be passing my favourite shop, modern machinery supplies & I'll be buying some 7018's to try out.
The shop is an aladdins cave for an engineer or welder, stocking everything you could possibly want! The biggest problem will be leaving with just the welding rods!
Penetration is not a problem with 6013 because it's a low penetration rod use for thin stuff ,so I think it's better a lower penetration than normal when talking about 6013Within the industry INE blue 6013s are considered to be one of the best, if not the best, of the soft arc 6013 types. You may struggle with penetration but the smoothness of the arc and the lack of spatter is excellent. When I was developing coatings I was forever being asked to make a copy, we never could match it. We got close but so did Esab, Bohler etc etc. There must be something in the water around the INE factory.
It all depends.....you wouldnt get a WPS that accepted no pen...but is it important on a chairPenetration is not a problem with 6013 because it's a low penetration rod use for thin stuff ,so I think it's better a lower penetration than normal when talking about 6013
Ps is just an opinion
