Has anyone ever used one if these to cut steel?
I have to replace the header pipes on my Yamaha XJR1300, and the exhaust port nuts are so rusted that I'm not even going to attempt to unscrew them.
Plans A & B (in no particular order) are to drill down through the face of the nut, and split it with a small chisel; or to slice down the side of the stud into the nut and let it collapse on its own.
Either way, it's going to be a bit of a ball ache as access will be limited, but I can't see it being a massive pain. If there is a metal cutting blade available for the multi tool, I cant see it being long enough to allow any sort of access, so I may have to chop it in two and braze a section in to extend it. Should be fairly straight forward I think.
If that's a no go, then I'll have to knock up some sort of long thin chisel, and some sort of extension for a small drill bit - that will be the trickiest bit I expect, so it would probably be best to buy one - any recommendations?
Unless you guys have some other ideas?
