As above, recommend the rothenberger style torches.
Please note what @JOEPRO said above - for home plumbing the MAP is too hot, use the straight propane/butane cylinders instead. With Mapp gas it is to easy to overheat the joint, causing it to oxidise & the solder won't take. I've also seen Norberts literally boiling the solder out of the joint with mapp gas!
I am not following that, the part is only as hot as the application of the flame. With a high temperature flame, you apply it more lightly to the part although I would always go in with caution regardless and watch the response.
