Hi chaps. I’ve been roped in to try and help an engine builder with a job on his mill. I’ve never used a mill.
He needs to skim the crankcase deck.
The area is about 3 inches square.
At the moment it is fitted with a bespoke fly cutter for decking Honda GX160 crankcases. Obviously the con rod etc would be removed before machining.
Due to the upstanding part on the engine he need to deck, I presume an end mill would be needed.
Does anyone know if this would be the way to go and where is a good place to purchase tools.
Thanks as usual to the Oracle.
